Workers of Municipality of Formosa will receive the salary increase of 15% announced for provincial public administration agents. The adjustment will be distributed in three installments of 5%, corresponding to August, September, and October. The municipal adherence therefore mirrors the schedule defined by the Government of Gildo Insfrán.
Ariel Peralta, general secretary of the Sole Union of Municipal Workers of Formosa, SUTRAMUF, communicated the confirmation after talking with Mayor Jorge Jofré. The leader valued that the improvement intended for provincial state employees also reaches municipal staff and indicated that the decision was received with relief by the workers.
The union framed the increase in a difficult economic scenario and in the reduction of resources coming from revenue sharing. Peralta highlighted the effort that, according to his assessment, both the provincial Government and the Municipality are making to sustain salary improvements. The 15% will not be paid all at once: the effect on each remuneration will unfold over the three announced months. The adherence was presented as a decision of the mayor and not as an automatic extension of the provincial measure.
Peralta took advantage of the communication to recall the origin of SUTRAMUF. He explained that the organization arose from the demands of employees who sought representation with a permanent presence and not limited to electoral periods. His definition of union work emphasized activity throughout the year and continuous support for labor needs.
The leader also listed measures implemented during the municipal administration: reclassifications, transfers to permanent positions, delivery of equipment and clothing, and improvements in various areas. He presented stability within the municipal career as a long-awaited aspiration for workers who were waiting for formal recognition of their situation.
The confirmed decision incorporates the municipal employees of the capital into the same percentage scheme as the provincial employees. The information does not detail the total fiscal cost, the number of agents affected, or the salary base on which each tranche will be calculated. It also does not announce a new wage negotiation different from this schedule. The next verifiable result will be the application of the 5% in August and its subsequent reflection in September and October until the announced 15% is completed.
