The Santa Cruz government has created a special 500,000-peso payment for education staff who effectively performed their duties on every working day between February and June 30, 2026. Governor Claudio Vidal announced the “Estímulo por Nuestra Educación” in the White Hall of Government House, where he presented Provincial Decree 673 establishing the recognition.
The central requirement is attendance throughout the first part of the school year. For teachers assigned directly to students, the decree requires effective classroom work. Its reach does not end there: it also covers supervisors, management teams and other teaching staff with specific educational support or assistance duties, provided they attended their schools regularly over the same period.
The amount will be fixed, non-salary and non-bonusable. Those conditions separate the payment from regular wages and from supplements calculated on remuneration. It will be paid once officials verify that each employee satisfies the decree's requirements, so the announcement now opens an administrative checking stage before the benefit reaches those who qualify.
Vidal presented the measure as recognition for those who fulfilled their work every day. His explanation placed the incentive within recorded performance rather than as a general increase for the entire system. The time frame is also precise: the assessment covers working days from February through June 30 and, in this decision, does not include the remainder of the school year.
The decree's grounds connect attendance with educational continuity and the right of children and adolescents to learn. It says that continuity is especially important for the most vulnerable sectors and places the recognition within a policy aimed at giving public education greater predictability. Provincial Education Council president Iris Rasgido described education as an engine of provincial development and placed teachers alongside students as central participants in the system.
Creation of the payment has been formalised, but implementation depends on individual verification of compliance. The next step is to identify the staff who meet the stated conditions and make the single 500,000-peso payment under the terms established. That process will show how many teachers, supervisors, managers and support workers are included in the decree's first assessed period.
