Governors Martín Llaryora, Maximiliano Pullaro and Rogelio Frigerio will meet in San Francisco to give Argentina's Central Region a structure capable of working beyond periodic summits. The opening of a permanent administrative headquarters, the transfer of the pro tempore presidency from Córdoba to Entre Ríos and the signing of agreements will turn a three-province political alliance into a platform with concrete tasks.
The new base will operate in the former Banco de Córdoba building inside the Civic Center of the city bordering Santa Fe. The ribbon cutting and tour will not be merely ceremonial: the property will remain the bloc's operating headquarters. Choosing San Francisco reinforces that border logic by placing regional coordination at a point of daily contact between provincial economies.
The leadership change will come with commitments on energy, production, security and integration. The governors will focus on a biomobility corridor and pending gas-pipeline works. Entre Ríos will therefore take over the presidency with an agenda already under way, while Córdoba leaves behind a structure intended to sustain the technical work that must continue under the new administration.
Part of the agreements seeks to remove administrative barriers that are repeated from one jurisdiction to another. The provinces plan to standardize rules for licensing workers who operate crop-protection equipment and drones, connect corporate registries and harmonize requirements for public procurement. The practical aim is to prevent companies, professionals and agencies from restarting the same procedure whenever they cross a provincial boundary.
Coordination will also extend to civil protection ahead of the El Niño phenomenon. Information sharing among hydrometeorological observatories will make it possible to build a regional assessment of rainfall, flooding and risks instead of three isolated responses. The validation of sister-city arrangements will be added to that network so that integration moves from provincial governments to specific municipalities.
On production, San Francisco, Esperanza and Nogoyá will work on a dairy agreement connecting cities in Córdoba, Santa Fe and Entre Ríos. The governors will also examine how the European Union-Mercosur agreement could affect local companies and how non-tariff measures should be monitored. The agenda includes a demand for a larger role for riverside provinces in managing the Paraná-Paraguay Waterway.
The summit will nevertheless retain a demand directed at the national government. Pullaro and Llaryora will press for a sustained reduction in agricultural export taxes, while Frigerio again called for their elimination and linked them to farm competitiveness. The immediate step is to sign the agreements and begin the Entre Ríos presidency; from then on, the headquarters will be judged by whether commitments become compatible rules, coordinated projects and common positions.
