Provincial deputy Claudio Domínguez warned that the completion of Mosconi Avenue could transfer congestion to the bridges that connect Neuquén with Río Negro. The legislator of MPN formulated his proposal from the Third Bridge and linked it to the increase in the tax on liquid fuels scheduled for August. Their claim combines fiscal criticism with a concrete demand for national infrastructure.
Domínguez maintained that the increase in pumps does not respond to a decision by the oil companies, but to the new tax component established by the national government. He also stated that more than 40% of the price charged corresponds to national taxes and questioned whether these resources do not return in works on routes, roads and bridges. The figures and attribution are part of his political exposition.
Criticism especially targeted National Highways. The deputy listed routes 151, 22, 40 and 237 as deteriorated corridors and requested maintenance work. From their perspective, charging a tax associated with fuel lacks justification if the collection is not reflected in the network used by motorists and transporters in the region. His intervention did not include a response from the national body.
The immediate problem arises from two interventions underway. The province requested the transfer of the North Highway and built a second road, while the Municipality of Neuquén received the old Route 22 to convert it into an avenue with four lanes in each direction. Both works will increase access capacity, but neither includes, according to Domínguez, a new bridge over the interprovincial corridor.
This difference in capacity would produce the funnel that the legislator anticipates. The vehicles would circulate along widened avenues until they end at intersections that maintain the current infrastructure. Domínguez, who also participates in the political assembly of Rolando Figueroa and Mariano Gaido, pointed out that senators, national deputies and Executive officials already know the situation, but have not yet presented an expansion of the bridges.
The final order left two alternatives addressed to the Nation: start a new road connection or stop collecting the questioned tax. There is no work announcement, budget or schedule in the exhibition to resolve the bottleneck. Therefore, the next relevant data will be a response from National Highways or the effective incorporation of a bridge to the scheme that must accompany the completion of Mosconi and the expansion of the Northern Highway.
