The Justice of Entre Ríos is investigating an alleged diversion of 103.738.136 Argentine pesos intended for breakfasts, lunches, and snacks in 37 schools of Concordia. Seven people have been charged, including the former local coordinator of School Cafeterias Silvina Murúa, members of her circle, and officials of a supplier company. The case is in process and there are no convictions.
The system used SIDECREER cards given to the people in charge of each dining hall to buy food at stores near the schools. A provincial audit compared invoices and delivery notes and detected documentary discrepancies. It also observed unjustified increases in the number of registered students, items consumed in a single day, and concentration of operations in three suppliers.
The Fiscal Unit of Concordia, in charge of Daniela Montangie, claims that since January of 2024 there were pressures to direct purchases towards Ahora Voy SRL. According to the accusation, some cards with balances exceeding one million pesos were in the hands of people linked to the firm. The prosecutors are also analyzing whether part of the money was used for real estate, travel, and clothing.
The charge attributed by the Prosecutor's Office includes embezzlement, incompatible negotiations with public office, and criminal association. These figures are part of an accusatory hypothesis that must be proven in the process. Murúa denied the accusations, stated that she had warned about irregularities, and claimed that she filed an initial complaint in March of 2025 together with Congressman Marcelo López.
A previous audit of 21 establishments had detected in June of 2025 a total of 66.143.225 Argentine pesos without proper justification. That record led to the removal of Murúa by decision of Governor Rogelio Frigerio. In the subsequent review, the auditors also received the explanation that menu notebooks from October and November of 2024 had been destroyed by rodents; new records were later presented.
The investigation affects resources destined for a city that recorded 49,9% poverty and 13,6% indigence in the second semester of 2025, according to the cited EPH. That context increases the public relevance of the oversight, but does not replace the guarantees of the accused. Individual responsibility, the effective destination of the money, and the validity of the documentation must be established by Justice.
