The El Viejo Zorzal ranch will hold on 27 August, from 14:00, its seventh annual auction in Villa Mercedes. The announced offer includes 50 black and red Angus bulls of pedigree and pure controlled, as well as 200 pedigree, pure controlled, and general females. The auction will be managed by Alfredo S. Mondino and will have online transmission.

The project recovers a family history that began in the decade of 1950, when Delmo Cavigliasso worked with Shorthorn cattle. The activity was interrupted and was resumed in 2008 by Delmo and Walter Cavigliasso, this time with Aberdeen Angus. This continuity combines family memory with a new genetic orientation adapted to the current development of the herd.

In 2011, Rodeo El Delmo was born, an establishment that marked the initial stage of the return. Towards the end of 2016, the project adopted the name El Viejo Zorzal. The family incorporated black and red lines and added Nicolás Cavigliasso to the daily management, consolidating a structure in which different generations participate in the cattle work.

The first own auction was held in 2019 and gathered around 200 people. Since then, the annual event has become a moment to showcase the evolution of the rodeo and connect with buyers. The seventh edition maintains this approach, with an offer that combines breeding males and females for different needs of improvement, replacement, and growth.

The cabin also built a record in exhibitions and tests. In 2020 it obtained a great male Angus champion in Río Cuarto during Embalse, and continued presenting animals in different settings. Among the references of 2024 are Luisito and Mbappé. These achievements are part of the competitive track record, but they alone do not guarantee the commercial result of the next auction.

The auction on 27 of August will be the new meeting point for a family livestock company that has put down roots again after several decades. The number of animals and the categories are announced; prices, sales, and demand will be known during the auction. The participation of Asociación Argentina de Angus provides the racial and technical framework necessary for the presentation of the genetics.
