The mayor of Ceballos, Juan Cruz Vega, joined the radical municipal chiefs who are promoting Martín Berhongaray to head an opposition front in La Pampa. The leader stated that the provincial chair of the Radical Civic Union knows the territory and meets the conditions to lead the candidacy for governor in the elections of 2027.

Vega proposed forming a broad coalition with all sectors willing to compete against Justicialist Party. At the same time, he set a limit for that structure: he stated that the candidate for the Governorship must be radical. For the composition of the rest of the list, he raised the need to agree on a mechanism accepted by the forces that ultimately make up the space.

The support appears while the PRO Pampas-based debates its orientation between sectors seeking to preserve their own identity and leaders closer to La Libertad Avanza. In parallel, the libertarian figure of Adrián Ravier faces scrutiny for their public interventions. The radical mayors try to take advantage of this scenario to preemptively organize a proposal around Berhongaray.

The calendar adds uncertainty to the conversations. Vega noted that the parties have already begun to mobilize because there is no certainty about a possible advancement of the provincial elections. Meetings between radical mayors and opposition members will continue more frequently as the electoral period progresses, although a constituted front or formal rules to define candidacies have not yet been announced.

Vega himself is considering seeking reelection in Ceballos, but clarified that he has not yet made a decision with his team. He said that he is having informal conversations and will consult the level of support from residents. At 30 years old, he stated that he is willing to step aside if the community calls for a change and emphasized that his immediate priority continues to be municipal management.

The municipal chief also did not confirm that other mayors aspire to join the list of provincial deputies. He highlighted that his administration receives support from Radical and Peronist voters and avoided attributing personal ambitions to his peers. The confirmed political fact is the public support for Berhongaray; the composition of the front, the primaries, and local nominations remain open.
