The provincial deputy Gabriel Álamo was set to lead Movimiento Popular Neuquino. The head of the party block in the Legislature and former mayor of Aluminé heads the list Celeste y Blanca, the only slate presented to renew the general leadership and nearly all the branch offices. Jorge Lara, president of Corfone, was nominated to preside over Party Convention during the new term of party authorities.

The party registered candidates to fill 662 positions distributed among the Governing Board, the Party Convention, and the 22 sections of the MPN. Álamo delivered 9.167 endorsements to the former governor Omar Gutiérrez, current party president, whose term ends in September. As there was no other general list, the renewal of the top authorities remained without internal competition.

Among the leaders included in the future leadership are the mayor of Zapala, Carlos Koopmann; the Secretary of Sports, Marita Villone; and the former mayor of Chos Malal, Hugo Gutiérrez. The capital branch was put in charge of Martín Giusti, a member of the board of Ente Provincial de Agua y Saneamiento.

The process occurs after MPN lost in 2023 the only governor election it had not won in six decades. The winner was Rolando Figueroa, a leader emerging from the same party who competed outside its structure. According to the cited data from National Electoral Chamber, the provincial force had 88.875 members until 2025.

The only branch with more than one proposal will be Centenario, where the elections will take place on Sunday 23 of August. Movimiento de Acción Política had reserved the color white and announced its participation, but finally withdrew. In a note, it stated that the call set deadlines that were too short to organize a province-wide force and gather the required endorsements.

The presentation of Celeste y Blanca defines party leadership and reduces the vote to a local dispute in Centenario. It does not itself imply a provincial election nor does it change the government of Neuquén, currently headed by Figueroa. The confirmed result is the internal renewal of MPN, with Álamo in the Governing Board, Lara in Party Convention, and only one branch still subject to competition.
