The Partido Justicialista de Salta will end its judicial intervention with the assumption of Julio Argentino San Millán as president. The event was scheduled for this Wednesday at 19:00 and will close the management led by José Luis Napoleón Gambetta. The new leadership will take over the party with salaries and services regularized and with 78% of the debts paid.
Gambetta described an initial situation marked by two and a half months of unpaid salaries, unpaid invoices, and a power outage at the headquarters. The intervention first carried out an accounting review to clarify the state of the accounts. That diagnosis made it possible to separate immediate obligations from the liabilities that required a longer negotiation.
During the following months, most of the debt was paid off. The remaining percentage corresponds mainly to commitments with the State, including obligations with ARCA, incorporated into payment plans. The existence of these installments implies that the situation improved but was not completely settled: the new management will inherit financial commitments that are still in place.
The auditor maintained that the recovery was not supported by extraordinary income. The main source was the reactivation of member contributions after the electoral schedule was set. According to his assessment, setting a date for the elections restored predictability and allowed both the political life and the party's economic management to be organized simultaneously.
After the assumption of office and the accountability of the intervention, the Party Council will meet. That body must define vice presidencies and secretariats to complete the structure of authorities. San Millán will thus assume a normalized organization in institutional terms and with a more stable financial position than the one found by Gambetta, although with pending payments.
The next result will be the integration of the Council and the plan with which the leadership will face the new stage. The end of the intervention does not automatically eliminate internal differences nor cancel the remaining 22% of the debt. It does modify the starting point: the PJ salteño returns to elected party authorities, recovers salary and service regularity, and leaves state commitments within an identified payment scheme.
