Gustavo Bastián, mayor of San José and head of the Justicialist Party in Colón department, has formally entered the 2027 Entre Ríos governor's race. He is touring the province to build territorial presence while avoiding the appearance of a personal imposition. He says he will compete but support another leader if a unity agreement is reached.

Other contenders include Juan José Bahillo, José Eduardo Lauritto, Marcelo Casaretto and Enrique Cresto. Bastián wants consensus exhausted before competition. If PASO primaries are unavailable, he proposes party elections with clear rules and believes the decision should be made before year-end.

He seeks support from the Justicialist Mayors' League and claims agreements with most members. That network provides structure and local knowledge but can also reproduce municipal machinery. A renewal candidacy will need social, productive and generational sectors beyond city governments.

Bastián presents municipal experience as his management credential. He says society wants something different but insists renewal should not exclude experienced leaders. The formula tries to renew programs and methods without turning the internal contest into a purge.

His economic project centers on production and energy. He argues that resources generated in Entre Ríos are redistributed from Buenos Aires in ways that raise electricity costs and hurt competitiveness. He links the energy matrix to roads, public works and jobs, but still needs concrete instruments.

His criticism of Rogelio Frigerio is direct. Bastián says problems that existed in 2023 have worsened and proposes a campaign on services, production and infrastructure. To become credible, the PJ must offer indicators, specific policy changes and financing.

The main risk is that multiple candidates prolong the contest and weaken the final nominee. Without PASO, the party needs a reliable roll, minority representation and oversight. Bastián says Frigerio, not fellow Peronists, is the adversary, but that slogan requires an accepted method.

The next step is turning tours into verifiable support and a written program. Before year-end, the PJ must choose unity or an internal vote. Bastián can represent municipal and productive renewal only if he integrates the other factions and offers more than another candidacy.
