San Luis participated in the 108th Assembly of the Consejo Nacional de Vivienda, held in Gonnet, La Plata, with representatives from 21 provinces. The delegation was made up of the Secretary of Housing Policy, Juan Pablo Torres, and the Minister of Human Development, Gustavo Bertolini. Both presented the provincial policy and advocated for the inclusion of San Luis in federal spaces for discussion on housing and social action.
The meeting took place at Centro Bonaerense de Energías Renovables and was attended by Lucas Crivelli, the highest authority of the Council. The participation from San Luis brought together the two areas that work on housing access within the provincial Government. This framework seeks to link the construction and allocation of houses with the social dimension of the beneficiary households.
Torres reported that currently 1,165 homes are being built in the province. He added that in the coming days another 646 will begin under the assisted self-construction modality, for which agreements have been signed with 44 mayors. The combination represents a new territorial stage: the municipalities will contribute to a program that requires technical coordination and support for families during its execution.
The official added to this picture more than 1,500 homes delivered during the previous year through the Progreso and Sueños plans. The figures correspond to different times and should not be added as if they were all under construction today. The immediate data is made up of the 1,165 units under construction and the 646 that, according to the announcement, will begin shortly.
Bertolini stated that San Luis had not been participating in federal spaces of this type and attributed the inclusion to a decision by Governor Claudio Poggi. For the minister, the presence allows for knowing experiences and thinking about new policies, both in housing and in other areas of social action. The assembly was presented as an instance of exchange; no national funds, additional credits, or specific work agreements for the province were announced there.
The meeting left two follow-up plans. At the federal level, San Luis will have to turn the integration into the Council into verifiable proposals or agreements. At the provincial level, the next step is to start the 646 assisted self-construction solutions together with the 44 municipalities and maintain the progress of the 1,165 houses already under construction. These milestones will make it possible to measure whether the coordination between Housing Policy and Human Development translates into new completed homes and effective access for families.
