The Government of Entre Ríos expanded the assistance scheme for workers affected by the Granja Tres Arroyos crisis. The La China plant of Concepción del Uruguay has been paralyzed since the end of May and registered layoffs. The new measures combine tax relief, food aid, economic subsidies, benefits on the electricity rate, and healthcare coverage.
A provincial decree aimed at dismissed workers cancels the 100% of the interest and fines of the debts corresponding to the Property and Automotive taxes of 2026. The due dates are extended until 31 of March of 2027. The application will be automatic based on the list of the Labor Secretariat and the obligations can be paid in one payment or in six monthly installments without interest from 10 of May of that year.
Since the beginning of the conflict, the Executive delivered 1.900 food modules in two batches of 950 units. It also managed 825 individual subsidies of 200.000 pesos, which are in the process of being paid, and confirmed a second disbursement to extend coverage to 1.075 workers. In energy matters, 525 employees received a differentiated social rate for two two-month periods, later extended for another two periods.
The Province also initiated negotiations with Enersa to refinance and postpone debts for electricity consumption. On the health front, the company's payment problems affected the social health service of Food Industry Workers Union. In response, a protocol was established with Hospital Justo José de Urquiza to guarantee care and medications for workers with chronic illnesses.
The crisis exceeds Entre Ríos. The Government announced that it will promote a working table with Córdoba and Buenos Aires to coordinate actions between the governors and their teams. In Córdoba, the shutdown of the Avex plant of Río Cuarto affects approximately 350 workers. In Buenos Aires, the Pinazo, Wade II/CEISA, and Wade I plants recorded suspensions, wage delays, and a pronounced drop in activity.
During the validity of the tax regime, collection actions for the included obligations may not be initiated. The set of measures seeks to reduce immediate commitments of families, but it does not equate to the reopening of La China nor does it guarantee the recovery of jobs. The confirmed news is the expansion of assistance and the decision to coordinate an interprovincial response while the business conflict continues.
