The provincial legislator Ernesto Ramón Flores, member of the Hacemos Unidos por Córdoba bloc and representative of the Río Seco department, requested leave from his seat. The decision was made while a judicial investigation in Villa de María del Río Seco for sexual abuse and grooming is ongoing, a case that has eleven people in detention.

Among those arrested is a legislative advisor, a circumstance that transferred the institutional impact of the file to the Unicameral. Flores communicated that he requested to step aside so that the process can proceed freely, without interference and with the necessary conditions to clarify the facts. The request does not by itself constitute a formal acceptance of the leave by the body.

The legislator stated that the Justice system must establish individual responsibilities and go to the ultimate consequences. He also affirmed that, in public service, it is not enough to provide explanations when there are doubts or suspicions. According to his statement, his institutional obligation consists of facilitating clarification and preventing the position from being used to question the investigation.

Flores emphasized that the case involves adolescents, families, and communities in the region, and that the victims must be at the center of any response. Within that framework, he requested that partisan disputes be put in the background and announced that he will not participate in political speculations around a situation that he described as especially painful.

The representative reaffirmed his commitment to the community of Río Seco and stated that the seriousness of the case demands concrete actions. His request for leave functions as a political and institutional decision intended to temporarily separate his legislative activity from the progress of the case. The published information does not specify the requested duration or who would occupy the seat during his absence.

The investigation continues in the judicial headquarters and the arrests do not constitute convictions. It was also not reported that Flores is charged in the case: the institutional link mentioned is the arrest of a person who served as a legislative advisor. Any criminal attribution must arise exclusively from the actions of the competent Justice, while the provincial Legislature defines the procedure and conditions of the requested leave.
