The governments of Chaco and Santiago del Estero are advancing a joint work agenda to strengthen forest control, production and environmental protection in northern Argentina. The Minister of Production and Sustainable Economic Development of Chaco, Oscar Dudik, was received this Wednesday by the Governor of Santiago del Estero, Elías Suárez, at the Government House, in a meeting that included officials from both provinces.
The meeting was attended, on behalf of Chaco, by the Undersecretary of Forest Development, Oscar Navarro, and the Director of Forests, Walter García. Representing Santiago del Estero were the Minister of Production, Néstor Machado; the Undersecretary of Natural Resources and Lands, Ángel Íñíguez, and the Director of Forests and Wildlife, Noelia Zanichelli. The meeting focused on the analysis of strategies to coordinate actions on problems affecting both territories, especially those related to forest control, transport of forest products and sustainable use of natural resources.
Minister Oscar Dudik highlighted the importance of consolidating coordinated work between the provinces. "It is a transcendent fact for both provinces to be able to work in a coordinated manner on problems related to production, such as pests, transport and forest use, which transcend provincial borders," he said. Likewise, the Chaco official pointed out that this meeting represents the continuity of a regional cooperation agenda that will include other strategic issues for productive development.
"This instance constitutes another important step in a regional agenda that also includes the treatment of the use of hormonal herbicides, pest management, the strengthening of the cotton chain and the incorporation of new technologies applied to production," said Dudik. The joint work between both provinces, he added, will allow generating better conditions for the growth of the productive sector, with direct benefits for producers and the sustainable development of the region.
With this meeting, Chaco and Santiago del Estero ratify their commitment to strengthen interprovincial cooperation to address common challenges, promote sustainable production and boost the economic development of northern Argentina. The joint agenda seeks not only to solve immediate problems, but also to lay the foundations for long-term productive integration that boosts regional economies and improves the quality of life of their inhabitants.
