The Government of Córdoba launched Gas para Crecer, a programme designed to expand access to natural gas in more than 70 towns across the province's north-western and southern regions.
The plan will be implemented through an agreement with Ecogas and will benefit households, schools, businesses, industries, municipalities and local communes. It combines financing, technical assistance and economic incentives to speed up new connections.
The province will provide credit lines to local governments to purchase materials for internal installations in 20 homes per town. The aim is to reduce one of the main financial barriers households face when joining the network.
Ecogas will support the work with technical advice, waive the fixed charge for the first twelve months and allow the connection fee to be paid in six instalments.
Governor Martín Llaryora said access to natural gas must be a priority throughout Córdoba. The initiative seeks to improve quality of life, strengthen local settlement and expand conditions for productive development.
Gas para Crecer forms part of the province's Territorial Equality Plan, a policy intended to reduce infrastructure and opportunity gaps between Córdoba's different regions.
