Sergio Ziliotto no longer assumes La Pampa will repeat the separate calendar used in 2019 and 2023. February party primaries and a May provincial vote remain possible, but he will first watch national rules and the local PJ contest.

Previous separation protected the provincial debate from presidential campaigns and, in 2023, from Alberto Fernández's decline. Now national primaries, the single paper ballot and a different provincial system add cost and complexity.

Ziliotto says management will be his main electoral asset. Behind his caution are Fuerza Pampa, linked to Carlos Verna, and mayors Luciano di Nápoli and Fernanda Alonso in the two largest cities.

He also watches the national conflict between Axel Kicillof and Kirchnerism. An early provincial vote could protect local issues, while a concurrent election could benefit from a competitive national candidate.

The opposition has not settled its coalition. UCR wants to lead an alliance with LLA, PRO and Comunidad Organizada, but libertarian resistance and PRO divisions remain, with Juan Carlos Tierno adding another complication.

The next signals will be the national decision on primaries and the PJ dispute. Only then will Ziliotto choose between a proven separate schedule and a concurrent election with new risks.
