Government approves RIGI for the second stage of the Sal de Oro lithium project

The RIGI Committee approved a 547-million-dollar investment for POSCO's new phase at the Salar del Hombre Muerto. The goal is to reach 23,000 tonnes per year of lithium carbonate and exports worth more than 300 million dollars.

Indec's mining production index reached its highest level since the series began in 2017. Lithium carbonate rose 45.1% year-on-year in May and accumulated a 47.5% increase in the first five months of 2026.
