Governor Osvaldo Jaldo used the inauguration of the City Market to order the electoral strategy of Tucuman Peronism. He supported the candidacy of Rossana Chahla for re-election as mayor of San Miguel de Tucumán and asked leaders, officials, councilors, legislators, and capital city militants to work behind that candidacy.
Jaldo stated that Chahla will be the only candidate for mayor from the Justicialist Party and scheduled the election for May 9, 2027. His message aimed to close distrust and resistance within the capital's structure, which had been affected during the administration by differences with Peronist sectors and by disputes over the level of electoral support for the provincial government.
The governor also responded to the internal movement generated by graffiti with the slogan Juan Manzur governor 2027. He acknowledged that any leader has the right to participate in an electoral process and said that he respects both the aspirations within his space and those of the opposition. At the same time, he reaffirmed his alignment with Vice Governor Miguel Acevedo and with Chahla.
The appearance of messages in favor of Manzur was followed by murals that promoted the continuity of Jaldo and Acevedo. The governor avoided denying the possibility of a competition, but questioned the speculations and stated that those who aspire to the Governorship should express it openly. He also reiterated that he does not have a meeting scheduled with the former governor, although he remains open to dialogue.
At the national level, Jaldo valued the meeting between Axel Kicillof, Sergio Massa, and Máximo Kirchner to reject the elimination of the PASO. He interpreted that conversation as a sign of unity within the Justicialist Party after a period of distancing and attacks. His reading was that the rapprochement could be extended to the provincial structures of the party.
Jaldo defended the continuity of the primaries as a mechanism of organization, although he proposed that their financing be the responsibility of the parties and that forces with a single list not participate. His decisions consolidate the official support for Chahla and acknowledge a potential dispute with Manzur, but they still do not equate to formalized candidacies or a closed national agreement for 2027, subject to electoral deadlines.
