Santiago del Estero opened a new institutional stage to organize its productive agenda. Governor Elías Suárez led the launch of the Economic and Social Council, a body designed to connect the provincial government with agriculture, industry, academia, businesses and organized workers.
The launch took place at the Fórum in the provincial capital and aimed to give permanent form to a table for consultation, planning and public policy design. The official goal is to ensure that economic growth is not reduced to scattered initiatives, but can become concrete tools for production, employment and territorial integration.
The agro-productive axis stands out as one of the priorities of the new space. The province wants to strengthen its regional economies, advance the industrialization of raw materials, incorporate technology into the agricultural sector and consolidate value chains that keep more activity within Santiago del Estero's territory.
The Council also seeks to bring small and medium-sized producers, business chambers, universities and workers into the same discussion. That composition recognizes that provincial development does not depend on a single sector, but on the ability to coordinate infrastructure, training, financing, added value and local roots.
Suárez linked the initiative to indicators he considers favorable, including the growth of registered private employment during 2025 and the evolution of the Gross Geographic Product in recent years. In that context, he argued that Santiago del Estero can present itself as an attractive destination for productive investment even in a complex national scenario.
The Council's agenda will be complemented by provincial youth training programs and by the strengthening of Territorial Development Agencies. The political signal is clear: the province seeks to turn dialogue between the State and the real economy into a management tool to sustain production, employment and territorial balance.
