The Municipality of Formosa and the Municipality of Tigre formalized a cooperation and institutional strengthening agreement that brings local state modernization, e-government and tourism promotion into a shared agenda. The agreement was signed by mayors Jorge Jofré and Julio César Zamora in the Buenos Aires district.
The understanding opens a framework for reciprocal collaboration between the two municipalities. Its aim is to promote more modern, participatory and inclusive cities, with management tools focused on residents' well-being and on making better use of local capacities.
The planned agenda includes the exchange of experience in public management and innovation, the implementation of digital technologies, the joint promotion of tourist attractions and the training of human resources in technical and administrative areas. The actions will be organized through specific programs, the transfer of good practices, joint activities and complementary agreements.
For Formosa, the agreement creates a working channel with a municipality that has been developing initiatives linked to digital innovation. Tigre has a Municipal School of Technology and Robotics, a unified management panel for data analysis and a free connectivity network in squares and parks.
The tourism chapter is also part of the agreement. Tigre maintains coordination spaces such as the “Destino Tigre” networking initiative, designed to connect service providers and travel agencies around the Delta, its cultural proposal and its local offer.
The agreement does not entail expenditures or budget commitments for either party. It will remain in force for two years, with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement, and each municipality will appoint liaison units to coordinate the actions and monitor the stated objectives.
